I learned about cetaceans this week. I knew Denise Herzing and Ingrid Visser from Lori Marino and Toni Frohoff's article "Towards a New Paradigm of Non-Captive Research on Cetacean cognition".

Denise Herzing is the research director of the Wild Dolphin Project which study the natural behaviors and communication of Atlantic spotted dolphins in the wild. I found her book Dolphin Communication and Cognition: Past, Present, and Future.

Ingrid Visser worked on the orca research. I found that she wrote the book Nobby the Orca: The True Story of His Rescue and Swimming with Orca: My Life with New Zealand's Killer Whales
I used Wikipedia to find sciences and researchers' information, but if I want to find some articles or books, I would use the Library because it is more precise. I learned some keywords from "Towards a New Paradigm of Non-Captive Research on Cetacean cognition", such as captive, self-awareness and empathy. In addition, because of this article, I followed the Whale Sanctuary project and the TerraMar Project. I still have no idea for my research, but I think maybe I will focus on giraffe, wolf or something else. I cannot decide yet.
